WHAT TRAVELERS ASK
Questions people ask before Jeju without a rental car.
Which apps should I use in Jeju?+
Use NAVER Map or KakaoMap for routes and Jeju Bus Information for live arrivals. International visitors should copy the Korean place name for better search accuracy.
Can I do Aewol, Hamdeok and Seogwipo in one day?+
No. They sit on different corridors and create excessive bus waiting. Choose one coast on a direct corridor from your hotel.
Can I reserve or join the queue through CATCHTABLE or TABLING?+
A listing is not proof that reservations or remote waiting are active. Search the exact Korean name and use the feature only when its button is live that day. TABLING may require an on-site confirmation code. International visitors should try CATCHTABLE Global first, then use an overseas-user QR or ask staff.
Is solo dining difficult?+
Soup, noodles, bibimbap and market snacks with individual portions are easiest. Grills and set menus may start at two portions, so confirm the minimum before sitting and save two nearby one-person alternatives.
What should I change in rain, strong wind or extreme heat?+
Reduce viewpoints, beaches and outdoor activities and switch to museums, markets or a confirmed open indoor venue. If the operator posts a weather suspension, choose the fallback before departure.
Can I send luggage from the airport to my hotel?+
Jeju luggage-delivery services exist, but eligible hotels, cutoff and airport desk vary. Confirm your hotel and the missed-cutoff rule for flight delays.
Where do I buy a transport card?+
Buy and top up a compatible T-money or Cashbee card at an airport convenience store or other retailer. Tap on and off buses and check balance first.
How early should I return to the airport?+
Aim to reach the airport two hours before departure and add at least 40 minutes beyond the map estimate. Keep the final stop on a direct airport corridor.

FIELD GUIDE · CHECKED 2026-07-27
A usable day plan,
not a list of places.
A short Jeju trip succeeds by staying on one bus axis. Choose a transfer-friendly Jeju City base, pair it with one coast served by the same direct corridor, and build day two backward from an airport arrival target—not from the last attraction.
- FORMAT
- One night · one city/coast axis
- LOCAL TIME
- About 40–90 min per selected bus leg
- WALKING
- About 3–7 km, route dependent
- AIRPORT TARGET
- About 2 hr before flight
- EXTRA BUFFER
- At least 40 min beyond normal bus time
- DROP FIRST
- A second side of the island
SAMPLE SCHEDULE
Build the day around the light.
Use these as decision points, then replace the example times with the sunset and transport times for your date.
- 01
Move to the city base first
Save the Korean hotel address, nearest stop and airport return route.
- 02
Use a short city walk
Recover from the flight instead of starting a cross-island bus journey.
- 03
Visit one direct-bus coast
Choose a place on the same corridor as the hotel and airport return.
- 04
Begin the airport journey
Aim to reach the terminal about two hours before departure.
01 · BASE
A transfer-friendly hotel is the first attraction
Stay near a stop with frequent airport and city connections. Save the full Korean address and stop name offline.
A cheaper remote hotel can cost more in waiting, transfers and taxis.
02 · ONE AXIS
Do not cross the island for a checklist
Choose one coastal district on the same bus corridor. East, west and Seogwipo should not compete in a one-night public-transport plan.
Use live route information because road and weather delays can change arrival predictions.
03 · APPS & PAYMENT
Prepare before leaving airport Wi-Fi
Use NAVER Map or KakaoMap for local routing, a taxi app as fallback and a loaded transport card for city buses.
Save screenshots of the hotel, first route and flight. Connectivity should not be the only copy.
04 · AIRPORT
The return starts earlier than it feels
Set an airport target about two hours before the flight, then add at least 40 minutes beyond the normal bus estimate.
If one delay threatens that target, stop sightseeing and use the direct bus or designated taxi fallback.
SAVE BEFORE DEPARTURE
Eight checks that keep the route intact.
- Save the hotel address in Korean
- Choose one direct-bus coast
- Load a transport card
- Keep a taxi app and pickup point
- Store flight and route screenshots
- Begin the airport return with a 40-minute extra buffer
