No. Anmok, Gangmun and Gyeongpo require a bus or taxi. Moving between several beaches adds significant waiting time.
Should I choose Anmok, Gangmun or Gyeongpo?＋
Choose Anmok for the coffee street, Gangmun for a compact beach-and-café stop, or Gyeongpo for the lake, Chodang and a larger beach. Pick one coastal zone for a day trip.
Can I do Chodang, Gyeongpo and Jungang Market in one day?＋
Yes, with limits. Eat in Chodang, choose either Gyeongpo or Gangmun, and reserve the market for late-route takeaway.

Single tofu dishes and market takeaway are easy. Seafood sets, barbecue and samhap may have larger minimum orders; ask before sitting.
Can I send luggage from Gangneung Station to my hotel?＋
Old articles describe a seasonal pilot, but permanent 2026 service is not verified. Check station lockers first and ask the station, KORAIL or your hotel about current delivery.
What should I do in rain or strong wind?＋
Shorten the coast and use Ojukheon, museums, Chodang food or a larger café. Avoid breakwaters, water edges and construction zones, and recheck buses.
Can I swim at night in summer 2026?＋
Gyeongpo’s night-opening period is announced for Jul 25–Aug 8, but follow the marked swimming zone, guarded hours and on-site controls. It does not mean unrestricted 24-hour swimming.
When should I leave the beach for my KTX?＋
Leave the coast at least 70–90 minutes before the train when relying on a bus. Taxis can also be delayed in peak season or rain.

Book the return before planning the coast
Weekend and evening KTX seats can sell out. Buy both directions together and treat the return departure as the fixed edge of the day.
Gangneung Station is the control point. On arrival, save the platform time, local boarding point and one taxi estimate before leaving the station area.

02 · FIRST MILE
Use live bus information, not an old route number
Local routes and intervals can change. Search the exact beach and save both the outbound stop and the stop that returns toward Jungang Market or Gangneung Station.
If the bus gap becomes longer than the time you can lose, shorten one segment by taxi. The fallback works best when decided before the delay happens.
03 · COAST
One beach is enough for a day trip
Gangmun gives you a compact beach walk, cafés and a clear route back downtown. Adding Gyeongpo and Anmok creates more waiting than sightseeing.
In wind, rain or summer heat, shorten the sand walk and use an indoor café. Never approach a breakwater or controlled shoreline in rough conditions.
04 · MARKET & RETURN
Turn the market into the final decision point
Jungang Market combines food, restrooms and a practical place to check the station journey. Store hours vary by vendor, so save two or three food options rather than one famous stall.
Leave about 50–60 minutes before the train. If the next bus no longer protects the ticket, use the prepared taxi fallback instead of adding another stop.
