WHAT TRAVELERS ASK
Questions people ask before a car-free Danyang and Gosu Cave trip.
Can I walk from Danyang Station to Gugyeong Market?+
The station and downtown are separate; use a bus or taxi. Save the exact return stop and live departure on arrival.
Can I book paragliding on arrival?+
Weather, age, weight, booking and pickup rules vary. Verify operator, insurance, cancellation and pickup before adding it to a rail day trip.
Can I reserve or join the queue through CATCHTABLE or TABLING?+
A listing is not proof that reservations or remote waiting are active. Search the exact Korean name and use the feature only when its button is live that day. TABLING may require an on-site confirmation code. International visitors should try CATCHTABLE Global first, then use an overseas-user QR or ask staff.
Is solo dining difficult?+
Soup, noodles, bibimbap and market snacks with individual portions are easiest. Grills and set menus may start at two portions, so confirm the minimum before sitting and save two nearby one-person alternatives.
Is Café SANN easy by public transport?+
No. Plan a round-trip taxi or confirmed pickup. If the descent is not secured, stay with the market and riverside trail.
Should I add Dodamsambong?+
Only when a taxi route and timing work. Combining Mancheonha, Café SANN and Dodamsambong creates too much waiting and transport.
What should I remove in rain?+
Drop view- and outdoor-dependent stops such as Café SANN, Mancheonha and the trail; use the market and indoor aquarium instead.
How much return buffer do I need?+
Leave downtown at least 60 minutes before the train, or a mountain attraction 90 minutes before it.

The first connection
Take KTX-Eum or a conventional train from Cheongnyangni to Danyang Station. The station is outside downtown, so save the exact town-bound and station-bound stops on arrival and compare a taxi when the bus wait is long.
About 1 hr 30 min–2 hr by train + local bus or taxiPlan the return first
Leave downtown at least 60 minutes before the train, or Gosu Cave and other outlying stops at least 90 minutes before it.

FIELD GUIDE · CHECKED 2026-08-13
A usable day plan,
not a list of places.
The first challenge is not the river walk—it is getting between Danyang Station, town and Gosu Cave. Save both local-bus directions on arrival, use the cave as the only outlying stop in extreme heat, and keep Gugyeong Market, food and cafés in one compact town-center route.
- RAIL
- About 1 hr 30 min–2 hr from Cheongnyangni
- LOCAL LINK
- Station bus interval is the main variable
- WALKING
- About 3–5 km · mostly flat
- CORE
- Riverside + Gugyeong Market
- RETURN RULE
- Leave town train −60 min
- DROP FIRST
- Any distant scenic add-on
SAMPLE SCHEDULE
Build the day around the light.
Use the sequence from Danyang Station to Danyang Station as decision points, then replace every example time with your dated transport.
- 01
Arrive at Danyang Station
Confirm the return train and save the town-bound and station-bound bus stops.
- 02
Walk the riverside
Keep the route flat and close to the market rather than adding a distant attraction.
- 03
Use Gugyeong Market as the rest hub
Eat, use the restroom and recheck the station journey before shopping.
- 04
Leave downtown
If the bus interval fails, use the saved taxi fallback.
01 · STATION GAP
Danyang Station is outside the compact center
The station arrival does not place you directly at the market or main riverside walk. Local transport is part of the route.
Save both stops and the return schedule immediately. A missed bus can consume more time than the entire market visit.
02 · RIVERSIDE
Keep the first trip flat and compact
Use the town-center river path as the main scenic walk. It is easier to shorten than a mountain or remote viewpoint.
In heat, rain or winter ice, reduce the open river section and move earlier to the market.
03 · MARKET
Eat before browsing every stall
Gugyeong Market is the practical food and rest hub. Vendor hours and queues differ, so save several options.
Check the station-bound journey before buying refrigerated or bulky food. The return bus determines the shopping cutoff.
04 · RETURN
One hour is the minimum town-departure rule
Leave downtown at least 60 minutes before the train; use more time when the bus interval is long.
Prepare a taxi pickup point and estimated travel time. Do not add another attraction after the safe return window closes.
05 · CAVE PLAN
Treat Gosu Cave as the single outlying add-on
Danyang County says Gosu Cave stays around 15°C year-round and opens roughly 940 m of its 1,395 m length to visitors. It includes steep stairs, narrow passages and damp flooring, so it is not an easy flat indoor attraction. Wear closed athletic shoes and carry a light layer.
Check transport from town, the entry queue and last admission. If stairs or slippery surfaces are unsuitable, keep the day around Gugyeong Market, a central café and the public Ollurim Center instead.
SAVE BEFORE DEPARTURE
Eight checks that keep the route intact.
- Reserve both rail directions
- Save both station bus stops
- Keep a taxi fallback
- Check cave stairs, entry and local transport
- Use the market as the rest hub
- Leave downtown at least 60 minutes early
